Every year in Lyon, there is the festival of lights (fête des lumières), when they dress the city in wonderful lights, and make light shows, and people put candles in their windows

..and what a Party
What better way to end my time in Lyon, than with a big party with everyone that I’ve meet, from Lyon and from the cities around.
It just was the perfect night. Thank you guys for making it so special ^_^

All you geeks out there: this is the place, you’ll feel at home: strategy games, word games, social games, agility/speed games, you name it!

When you start living one place, you form habbits – from the croissant you eat every morning, to the wednesday meeting where you know you’ll meet x and y, and the thursday meeting in place z, you start to make connections, friends..And then ..you.. leave (?!)
That is my case at least.

One of my favourite events, the all languages meeting, every wednesday evening at “Chez Thibauld”, JC (Jean-Christophe) is still organizing the meetings (the world does not stop just because I left ) ), if you’re in town, Go There!! Cozy place, friendly people .

I stood some months more, kept a very low profile.
Then left to France.
There I’ve stood at Romain’s place which is ( almost ) a complete sweetheart

Jihane and Jeremy are a lovely couple and I look forward to meeting them again.
They rented a flat together after staying with us.. so we got new housemates

My frenchies like making jokes with Sarcozy, and his “romanian return policy”* so to call it, and ending with
“Yey! I can now start a restaurant, I’ve got cheap romanian workforce!”

Non, mes amis français, on n’aime pas entendre des blagues en relation avec nos origines ^_^

Romain tells me “I could never have you as a girlfriend, you have too much personality” xD

And teases me with weird nicknames I can’t remember how many times he made me “roumaine râleuse”
I can still hear him singing: “raluca la raleeeuse, raluca la raleeeuse”
what else.. “feniasse”, “cochonne” ) “petite sale roumaine”, “coquine” ah, and the list goes on of course.

The happy house for dinner:

Emily, the blondine, is a musician, she has her own blog if you’re curious, she plays the ukulele.

I found it really nice in the house, people coming and leaving all the time, there was something going on all the time, I’d open the door and not know who to expect, and Romain, when he does cook does some delicious dishes Btissame was teaching me the arabic alphabet, and we’d do exercises every night; I woke up one morning and discovered we were going to have a bruch..actually we were already having it =)) surpriiise!! It was really nice staying there.

And Romain: thank you for having me

*for those who don’t know, romanians (I am not sure if romanian roms(gypsies) or all romanians) receive ~300euros if they are in France, are unemployed, and decide to leave, in order to “help” them return home

Two years ago – I was a fresh computer science graduate, I had already landed a job when the economical chrysis stroke, I had a room to return to, I was Mommy’s good little girl, with a clear and quiet life to look on to.

And what did I do?

You already know the answer to this:

I’ve quit my job, and left the country.
All I had was one suitcase, a few hundred euros, and probably some degree of maddness ^_^
